Hi, I’m Tyler
A professional pastry chef turned teacher of all things cookie decorating.

How I got here
Paper Street Parlour grew out of a homegrown love of baking cookies on Sunday afternoons in my grandmother’s kitchen. From there my childhood hobby grew into a lifelong baking passion.
In 2014, I started Paper Street Cake, a successful custom cakes and decorated cookies business. I created delicious works of art for hundreds of happy clients over the years.
From 2017 until recently, I was teaching in-person cookie decorating classes and occasional cake decorating classes in my home in Irvine, CA until the pandemic threw a wrench in things.
For a while there I kept my business afloat and gave my local students something to keep them busy by offering decorate-at-home cookie kits. They were a hit! But I was getting burnt out keeping up with demand. Near-weekly cookie kits are a LOT of work!
Luckily, my online masterclass and supply starter kit have been steadily increasing in popularity and those allow me to reach a much wider audience than I can locally.
What I’m doing now
Teaching is my passion and I want to help as many people as I can learn how to master cookie decorating. So, I have been hard at work creating some amazing new online classes and blog content!
Before getting into the cookie game, I was pre-med and taught anatomy and physiology. My goal has always been to set my students up for success. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from 10 years of decorating cookies, and put all of that knowledge into each of my online classes. Like any new skill, decorating cookies takes practice to master, but I’ve tried to do all the trial-and-error for you.
